Hello, I am a first-year doctoral student in the Learning, Design, and Technology program at the University of Georgia.

I am from Seoul, South Korea. My Korean name is Eunkyoung Cha, and I gave myself an English name, Elaine.

This is because both names start with alphabet 'E', and they both had similar meanings; 'brighten the world' and 'shining light'.

My research interests include teaching and learning English as a second (ESL) or foreign language (EFL), technology-assisted language learning, game-based learning, and student motivation.
